Objective: A Florida sporting goods retailer specializing in boating, hunting and fishing equipment wanted to place its name before every sports enthusiast in its area. Stratergy: A clear vinyl holder of hunting and fishing licenses was imprinted with the name, sddress, phone number and specialty of the store, as well as the slogan, "Everything for the Sportsman." A tuck-in flap made the holder virtually waterproof. Some 50,000 holders were distributed at the county tax collector's office and over the counter where licenses were sold. Results: A direct increase in sales was atrributed to the promotion by the advertiser, who continued it during the next hunting and fishing season. |
